During this 2-day workshop, you’ll learn human-centered design strategies based on the psychology and neuroscience of user emotion, cognition, online behavior.
You’ll learn about the full spectrum of user emotions, and how to avoid accidentally triggering negative user emotions such as anxiety, low self-esteem, and resentment. Instead, you’ll learn how to evoke positive emotions like trust, loyalty and pride, while learning how to manage situations where negative emotions are unavoidable, such as giving bad news, or using pressure tactics.
What you’ll learn
You’ll learn how to shape users’ emotional experiences and online behavior through a combination of interactive design and content strategies, that are applied to wireframing, digital strategy, creative specs, and journey mapping.
Topics will cover perception, memory, learning, emotional processing, decision making, energy-levels, and focus along with in-depth modules on what emotions are, how they work, and which emotions drive which behaviors.
Skills you’ll gain
By the end of the workshop, you will understand how to use emotional design strategies to engage users in a wide variety of emotional states, with the goal of increasing engagement, conversions, and positive user experiences. You’ll learn simple research techniques you can use, to assess the emotional impact of your websites, apps and campaign content, while identifying emotional risks, so that you can build amazing user experiences.
Interactive learning environment
The content is science-based, but presented in plain language, with visual examples, and practical exercises. You’ll enjoy group design projects, live polling, UX/design discussions, hands-on exercise, and group creative processes.
